Help docs! i'm trying to find out what causes narrowing &/or hardening of blood vessels?

Atherosclerosis: Atherosclerotic vascular disease is the majority cause of narrowing of the blood vessels....specifically arteries. There are many risk factors that predispose to atherosclerotic disease. These include smoking, hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol.
