Aneurysm: In general, any blood vessel can "pop" due to an injury. This results in bleeding. Aneurysms are abnormally enlarged blood vessels, usually involving arteries. As aneurysms become larger, their risk of rupture increases.

Rupture: A vessel that bursts has ruptured it may be trauma, ruptured aneurysm or from a needle stick. THe blood that leaks out clots and forms a bump or hematoma aka the black & Blue
