Eye allergy drops : Alaway is safe for long term use as it contains a medication that is an anti-histamine. Visine allergy or any eye-drop that " takes the red away" typically has a decongestant in addition to an anti-histamine. Such eye drops are not designed for daily long term use and can cause rebound redness if abruptly stopped after longer use. The eye drops, due to the decongestant, do have warning for use.
