No: Crohn's disease is generally a disease of the small bowel, occasionally the large intestine and is an inflammatory disorder. Sleeve gastrectomy (sg) is used for weight loss. The two disorders are not related or causal. Most patients with ibd are malnourished and the frequency of morbid obesity is lower, however in one study from israel, 13 patients with crohn's successfully underwent sg.
