Please tell me what can be done with vincristine or vinblastine encephalopathy?

Your doctor can addr: This should be addressed by your doctor . I need to know more about the circumstances which lead to this problem. It is not a condition which happens easily unless there was an accidental overdose of medication(vincristine, more often than vinblastine). Is the affected person functional or non functional due to encephalopathy? Tell me some more.

Prevention: Vinca alkaloids injected accidentally into spinal fluid cause ascending paralysis and death in virtually all cases. Prevention of the accidental injection into spinal fluid by hospital systems and protocols is the way to handle this complication. Most other cases of "encephalopathy" are posterior reversible encephalopathic syndrome (pres) and are due to multiple causes; concurrent steroids usually.
