Many: Dust comes in different forms and sizes. Particle size is very important. If the particles are large then they get caught in the nose and upper airway and you typically swallow. If smaller then they deposit in the lower airways and that's when they cause problems. Also the specific dust from what material is very important. That's when the cells in the lungs clean up if they can. Use protection.
