Why do my eyes burn so much? feels like they're ok but then get dry easily.

Surface problems: Sounds like you are having problems with the tear film on the surface of the eye. When you don't have enough tears, or the right composition of tears, or inflammation of the lids and conjunctiva from blepharitis or rosacea, then burning, grittiness, fluctuating vision and dryness can result. An exam will help sort out the underlying cause for the most appropriate tx strategy.
