A 35-year-old female asked:

is it normal to have uncontrolled bowel movements in your third trimester? if so, why?

Dr. Jane Van Dis
Obstetrics and Gynecology 18 years experience
No: I wouldn't say that it's normal to have uncontrolled bowel movements. There can definitely be a lot more pressure on the rack them in the third trimester due to the position of the babies head. Definitely mom's express that they feel like they don't have as much time to get to the bathroom. Uncontrolled implies loss of sphincter control or an autonomic nerve problem discuss with your doctor in greater detail.

How is the cause of abdominal pain determined without xray?

Many tools: Identifying the cause of abdominal pain is like solving a mystery, compiling clues based on a medical history, physical examination, lab results, x-rays, endoscopy, and response to rx. In cases where we cannot use x-rays, ultrasound can be helpful but will not replace a ct scan, when necessary.

Extreme fatigue especially after bowel move and eating. No strength very irritable and feel angry..Unable to think clearly. .Mis speak words or canno

Dr. Robert Kwok

Doctor can evaluate: Extreme fatigue by itself is not normal and needs an evaluation. A primary care doctor can look for causes such as anemia, cancer, infections, hormonal imbalances, etc... Significant anemia (not enough blood) or thyroid hormone problems are two of the many possible causes. One can write down a list of symptoms, with a brief description of each, to take to the doctor.

I am 38 f obese with fatty liver. I have lost 42 lbs since march . My hair is falling out. Could this be a sign of cirrhosis?

Probably not: Cirrhosis is not usually associated with hair loss.Any time there is a rapid reduction in weight or any kind of illness then we can see hair loss increase for several months. This type of hair loss comes back so not to worry. Good luck on your weight loss.
A 22-year-old female asked:

Abdominal and lower back pain, what does that mean?

Too many causes: Honestly there are far too many possible causes to list. Thats what a doctor does when they ask you all the questions so they can figure out the cause. See your doctor to get at the cause. Some causes are simple and some more difficult to figure out. The internet can help with information but not with diagnosis. Good luck.
