Depends: If your severely hypothyroid may have swelling of your legs, feel tired, gain weight may have difficulty breathing. Mild hypothyroidism may be asymptomatic.

Lack of meds: If you don't have a thyroid and don't take your thyroid medication you will become hypothyroid. Hypothyroidism will cause many symptoms including myxedema coma, a rare but life-threatening state of very severe hypothyroidism.
