MRI brain possible: Based strictly upon your information i believe an imaging study of the brain (mri with contrast) could be justified. Having said that, i also believe that more information about your symptoms and exactly why you were prescribed topamax (topiramate) could be valuable. I would keep the workup simple and recommend documenting symptoms and following them over time as very useful at this point.

YES: Any type of facial pain or headache deserves MRI or ct scan to ensure that nothing more serious than just migraines is going on.
