Do opiate use lead to ptsd or vice versa?

NO: Opioid use does not lead to ptsd. Post-traumatic stress disorder is a type of anxiety disorder. It can occur after you've seen or experienced a traumatic event that involved the threat of injury or death.

No & No: I agree with dr rosenfeld. However, with that said, opiate use can interfere with recovery from ptsd. Many of our wounded warriors returning from oif and oef are suffering from debilitating, chronic pain conditions. This is turn had led to high levels of opiate use.
