A member asked:

When did so many bacteria get resistance to common antibiotics? is this a problem only in the us?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Humans/animals: The resistant bugs are thought to be due to improper use of antibiotics (taking them for viruses, or taking them for a "cold", or not finishing course). It's also thought to be due to the amount of antibiotics fed to our cattle and livestock. This is not just a problem in the us, but for certain strains of bacteria, resistance is worse in other countries.
