My son is only 14 and he thinks hes losing hair. could a regular family doc tell if hes losing hair through blood test. he don't lose a lot only little.

Physical exam: Is he losing his hair? Telogen effluvium and alopecia areata can both affect teens and don't need blood work. As junior learns about his changing body, he may have noticed that individual hairs get lost all the time as the follicles go through their cycle. Reassurance may be all that's needed.
