Fissure: This is an ulcer in the anal canal. It is not a hemorrhoid. Fissures if chronic will result in the formation in a tag of tissue mistaken for a hemorrhoid. Fissures are non-healing ulcers of the anal canal most often associated with pain and bleeding. If chronic surgery is the best treatment.
