Gingivitis: It's a mild inflammation of the gums. Do not procrastinate, see you dentist for evaluation, cleaning and prophylaxis. It could be more advanced gum disease, periodontitis. Periodontitis occurs when inflammation/infection of the gums (gingivitis) is untreated or treatment is delayed.

Periodontal ?: Most likely you have some form of periodontal (gum) disease. Either the milder form called gingivitis, or the more advanced and serious type known as periodontitis. Less likely are an accidental cut or abrasion, or food impaction causing gum inflammation and bleeding. Even less likely are some medical problems. In any case, you need to see a dentist for an evaluation and appropriate treatment.
