Cryptic tonsillitis: Is chromic tonsillitis due to the tonsil crypts. You can use a water pik to clean out the crypts. The only real way to fix the problem is to remove the tonsils. This is very readily done but is very painful in adults. Try the non surgical route first. When it fails, go the surgical way. Good luck. Feel better!

Large crevices: The normal tonsil has deep crypts normally which increases the surface of the tonsillar tissue for an-active immunological response. I think it is difficult for any physician to specifically tell you that crypts are infected. The treatment is culture and sensitivity and if you have pain and difficulty swallowing for months, then surgery should be considered.
