Herpes: I am not sure of the language you ascribe to your physician, but one either has herpes or one does not have herpes. There is no such thing as a 'mild' infection. New studies have now taught us that 90% of those with herpes type two never have outbreaks. But, contagiousness, a concept known as 'viral shedding' can occur whether one has sores or not.
