Oil tear gland: Meibomian gland an oil gland that provides oily lubrication to the tear film layer. Healthy tear film consist of liquid, oil, mucus and other protective chemicals. Its dysfunction will happen from lack of circulation. When the gland gets occluded with allergens, dust or debris it becomes dysfunctional. When it does not work it causes dry eyes and blepharitis(inflammation of the eye lids).
