My sister had an ultrasound w/ her obgyn for heavy/irregular cycle. they found a 5x4 cm "growth" & told her to be back in 3-4 months. normal?

Possibly: There are a number of things it could be, such as a uterine fibroid or ovarian cyst, both of which are usually benign (not cancerous). If your sister is comfortable with the explanation she got, then she should followup as recommended. If she's not, then a second opinion is certainly an option.
