A member asked:

Is it normal to have very large blood clots during period? period lasts 3 days. obgyn ultrasound, annual routine all normal, annual physical normal

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Large clots occur when there is arterial not venous bleeding during the period which is not normal. A sub mucous uterine fibroid can cause such an event and it is not usually discoverable by ultrasound rather via a procedure called hysteroscopy. See a GYN MD for further evaluation.
