I am not familiar: With those manuals. I find that Cymbalta (duloxetine) is particularly beneficial for patients who suffer from both depression ; chronic pain.

If it doesn't , then: I'm in trouble. Whatever manual you are reading this from is clearly mistaken. I have many patients on this medication and personally found it to be extremely useful as well. This is another one of those situations where you can't always believe what you read. Best wishes.

What "manuals"?: It's hard for any of us to agree or disagree when we don't know what "manuals" you're referring to. For all i know these could be written by organizations which believe psychiatry itself has no place in the universe. :-) Cymbalta (duloxetine) is an antidepressant with benefits and risks like any other -- and i've seen it help many. I've also seen some who could not tolerate it.

Yes I feel the same: Cymbalta (duloxetine) was developed as an antidepressant. Since it has also been shown to be effective in other conditions.

Which manuals?: Duloxetine (Cymbalta) is an SNRI approved for depression, anxiety and pain. I am not aware of anyone saying there is no place for it, but I would like to know the names of these journals if you have them .

Disagree: Cymbalt is in the drug class SNRI. It is effective in treating depression. I do not know what manual you read. I have not seen this.

Cymbalta (duloxetine): I agree with your disagreement. If patients can tolerate the medication, and it is prescribed for right reasons, it is very effective.

Binding profile and: My approach is to look at the data, and yes it's been shown to be an effective drug for depression, and binding profile. This agent works on NE and 5HT so depending on the patient, it can be a great fit/choice.

MEDICATION: Sorry I do not understand this question. Cymbalta is an antidepressant with dual neurotransmitter activity. So it is definitely a psychotropic medication.
