Could use expert help with why a fever causes metabolic acidosis?

Doesn't: Fever by itself will not cause a metabolic acidosis. But when associated with sepsis can be due to lactic acidosis, with starvation ketoacidosis. Infections are frequently associated with these conditions very ill patients, this is not your every day fever.
