I haven't tooken my advair for 3 months because i'm fine without it. should i still take it even though i'm fine without it?

Maybe: Check in w/your family doc & ask for pft (pulmonary function test) to determine how well you're breathing. You may have subconsciously decreased your activity level to avoid becoming short of breath w/o your meds. If you wake up frequently at night to reach for your rescue inhaler, you definitely need your prevention inhaler (advair).

Probably: Asthma is a chronic disease of inflamation and for most people it requires daily medication to control the inflamation just like patients with high blood pressure require daily meds to control it even they feel ok. Your doctor can discuss the need with you depending on your lung function (spirometry) test and a "quality of life test" like the asthma control test available on line.

See your doc...: Even though you feel ok without your inhaler, you may have ongoing airway inflammation that your doctor can hear with a stethoscope. Left untreated, this airway inflammation could lead to adverse consequences. You should not stop asthma meds unless directed to do so by your doctor.
