Needs further exam: If you are having pain and where told that one hip is higher than the other, i would contact an orthopedist or a chiropractor to see if it is a muscular or structural problem.

Unequal leg length: Many people have a difference int he height of their hips, from an actual or relative limb length discrepancy. This can be a result of a curvature in the spine (scoliosis) or an actual difference in the length of the legs. Depending on whether there are any symptoms, it usually doesn't have to be corrected. Sometimes an in-shoe lift is used to help deal with symptomatic cases.

Heel lift: Consult with your orthopedist to see if a heel lift may be a good idea depending on your diagnosis. A podiatrist may be able to measure and fit you for a pair of custom orthoces with a heal lift added to the orthoce of the shorter limb to balance you out.
