A member asked:

What do you think could be the reasons to see blue spots on sclera?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The sclera is the: White outer layer of the eyeball, continuous with the cornea at the front of the eye. A faint blue hue is usually indicative of an area of thin sclera where the vessels in the next layer (choroid) can influence the normally white color of the sclera. Uncommonly, blue or purple patches can be associated with pathology and should be evaluated by your eye care professional.
