Possibly: Post-traumatic stress disorder can develop as a result of exposure to a traumatic event that results in intense anxiety, fear of loss of life, etc. This can certainly include exposure to a natural disaster such as a hurricane, tsunami, etc.

They could be...: Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can develop after a very stressful, frightening or distressing event, or after a prolonged traumatic experience, so depending on how frightening your experience was during the disaster or how long the disaster affected you, PTSD could certainly develop. See a mental health specialist if you have symptoms of PTSD.
