Yes: Ligaments and tendons are soft tissue structures that insert on various bones. When you pull them hard enough, either it will tear or it will pull a piece of bone off. When the ligament or tendon pulls hard enough to pull bone off, it is called an avulsion. Recovery depends on the area of body involved. Some require surgery, others heal well on their own.
