Filling pain: There are lots of possibilities. Rather than just giving you a list, see your dentist to have it evaluated. You may have to just give it time to resolve on its own, or you may require some further adjustment or treatment.

Pulp inflammed: The chief reasons why fillings can hurt after placement are inflammation of the tooth pulp or the filling being too high. A minor amount of sensitivity is considered normal but if the tooth really hurts or the filling feels high you should consult with your dentist.
