Bleeding gums: While there are a host of reasons why gums bleed, by far the most likely cause is poor oral hygiene coupled with infrequent visits to a dentist for a thorough cleaning. This lack of care results in periodontal (gum). Early phase is gingivitis ; more serious phase is periodontitis. See a dentist for medical\dental history ; evaluation. Medication, hormonal, ; other medical conditions also possible.
