Can someone please explain to me what a "collapsed lung" entails?

Easy: Both lungs are usually inflated with air. If one lung drops or deflates like a birthday balloon than you have collapsed lung. Breathing may become difficult. Google has nice pictures. This can be life threatening and a lung doc should be seen.
