That is Arthritis of: The spine. The surgery you mentioned will help relieving the leg pain by freeing the pinched nerve and may help the back pain as well. Its important to relieve the pinched nerve otherwise the nerves will be permanently damaged. The spacers will help and probably reduce the chances of developing the facet joint arthritis or from making the arthritis worse. Good luck in your forthcoming surgery.
