Trace may be OK: A trace of protein in the urine may be normal for an active 19 year old. If you do moderately heavy workouts, muscle breaks down and forms rapidly and may lead to some protein in urine. However, if you have significant proteinuria of unknown cause, it must be worked up by an internist/nephrologist.
