Yes, it can: It sure does sound like akathisia. The feeling is one of rather intense inner restlessness. It can be both physical and psychological restlessness. It generally affects the legs with an intense desire to keep them moving, but it can affect other parts the body so that you also rock side to side. Talk to your doctor about what heor she would like you to do. Generally the preferred treatment if it all possible is to lower the dose, but i don't know you well enough as to suggest that. Other treatments include cogentin, propranolol, valium, and even Benadryl (diphenhydramine) if it doesn't make you too sleepy.Get it treated quickly because it's very uncomfortable as i'm sure you already know.
