Post Bruise Knot: Bruises are actually blood clots. As the bruise heals the old blood calcifies and often can be felt for some time. I have seen these take up to six months to fully resolve. The calcified clot is resorbed usually from the inside out so the 'knot' can be felt for some time post injury.
