Depends: On one type of hole you have in your heart. A common type called in atrial septal defect often is not be much of a problem at all, when they are small. Your doctor should be able to tell you what type of hole it is. If you have not had an echocardiogram that would perhaps be a good thing to have done, so you know exactly what is going on.

Depends: You need to determine whether or not the hole is still present, whether it is between the atria or between the ventricles, and how big/small it is. You need an echocardiogram and a visit with a cardiologist.
