Nexplanon bleeding. during sex, after sex, without sex.. prd for 3 wks. usually 4 days-1wk w/ prvs bc. implntd 10/04/2013. will the bleeding ever stop?

Have hope!: Unfortunately about 20% of women with the contraceptive implant will have irregular spotting that lasts more than 14d, but have hope, you can expect a decrease in bleeding/spotting over the course of the first year. If you want to be proactive, see a gyn for a course of nsaids or tranexamic acid 500 mg bid x 5days to help curb the bleeding; or try adding birth control pills. Discuss with your md.

Usually it will: Usually not heavy and tends to improve with time. A nuisance but if the method is otherwise comfortable, try to be patient.
