Post Op Pain: Post operative knee pain and swelling may be normal ; however, the rare incidence of infection cannot be ignored--so, call your surgeon to discuss their thoughts. When arthritis is present, the benefits of arthroscopy are tempered. Bone on bone changes may indicate that the arthritis is the major problem--and may require additional treatment. Your surgeon can discuss these alternatives.
