Joint pain: There is a number of reasons for joint pain. Acute joint pain in the absence of injury or trauma might be suggestive of gout. Osteoarthritis, which is by far the most common type of arthritis in the joint, particularly the knee is another possibility, although, usually it is more painful than inflamed. I would recommend being seen by a doc who can hopefully sort this out for you.
