I had a saddle embolis 4 months ago, did sputum sample& gp wants to repeat the test cos they found staphylococcus aureus wots this & cud it be serious?

Pneumonia?: It depends on whether there's concern for pneumonia based on fever, respiratory symptoms, and chest x-ray or ct findings. No one has sterile sputum; bacteria will always grow from a sputum culture, and that can include staph in healthy people who were colonized with it. If you're not sick, there's probably little to worry about . But if you have pneumonia, then the result might be important.
