Might take a while: If the feeling was deep and close to your nerve pulp and pain last a few seconds it might take a couple month for healing. However, if the pain is spontaneous, last long period of time (20 min.) or wakes you up you might need endodontic evaluation.

Sensitive teeth: Teeth that are sensitive after being filled is usually the result of one of the following: either the filling is too high and the bite needs to be adjusted, the decay was very close to the pulp (nerve), or there is a fracture in the tooth. Return to your dentist and have her/him check your bite.
