Essential tremor: Is the most common type of tremor and affects many people. Essential tremor occurs when muscles are used, such as when holding a fork in your hand versus parkinson's, the tremor when muscle relax. A few drugs are used for this condition (topamax, xanax, (alprazolam) neurontin). Surgery is suggested. However, research is needed since not many people with et benefit from these drugs and surgery.
