A member asked:

How do you stop getting neck and shoulder crams nearly every time you move shoulders/neck? and what could be causing it? (got worse in the last week).

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Muscle spasms: In a young person, the most likely cause is muscle spasms. This may have occurred from some injury or overstretching or improper lifting or straining. The treatment is with heat, massage, muscle relaxation, mild anti-inflammatory agents. Physical therapy may also help. If it does not improve, see your doctor as it may be more serious.
