A member asked:

Is oct beneficial for moderate to high myopics (like me) with lattice degeneration just to see if the overall retina is thinner than usual?

Not necessarily: Oct is just a tool to see the thickness of the retina for myopes, but that's all it'll tell you. It will not visualize the lattice degeneration at all. It will tell you if your retina is thinned, but it will not change any treatment plan. The treatment is just glasses or contacts, no matter how thin the retina is.
