A member asked:

Can a 70 yrs old diabetic patient with proneinurea use methotrexate to treat psoriasis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, with monitoring: Methotrexate is an old chemotherapeutic agent and is has been in use to treat rheumatologic conditions for quite sometime now. The dosage used here is quite small and more of a concern for liver problem than kidney. Nevertheless, being a diabetic and age 70 is in itself a concern, as with use of other medication. If you need it, it is not unreasonable to use. Close monitoring is advised. Good luck.
