Depends: Very high blood pressures (malignant hypertension or hypertensive emergency) could cause irreversible damage to organs immediately. Untreated high blood pressure could cause irreversible damage to organs over months or years. Most commonly affected organs include eyes, nervous and cardiovascular systems, and kidneys.
