2nd time around on olanzapine. become more sensitive to the sedative effects at same dose. guessing it's an inevitable feature of the drug, but does sedation diminish with time? if so, how long?

Sedation can often: Diminish within the first 2-4 weeks, but possible compounding effect of any other psychotropics need to be looked at and med adjustments made if this is a possibility.

Lower the dose.: If you have not taken Olanzapine for a while, you may feel like you are taking it for the first time. Some people take at least 2-3 weeks to get used to it. Let your doctor know and you may have to start at a lower dose . You may even respond at a that lower dose. Good luck.
