A member asked:

Is zyprexa (olanzapine) permanently sedating, or does this side effect go away in time?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Zyprexa (olanzapine): Many times the sedation with zyprexa (olanzapine) will resolve over a few days to a week. Sometimes it can persist. Many individuals will take zyprexa (olanzapine) in the evening/bedtime to either take advantage of, or sleep through the side effect. If sleepiness persists please discuss this with your physician so it can be addressed. I also use relprevv a once every 2-4 week depot injection that decreases this complaint.
