Yes: Some patients who take xanax (alprazolam) for anxiety can actually have worse symptoms. I would not take any more and speak with your prescribing health care provider about this. Sometime modifying the dose can be helpful or a new medication should be tried.

Xanax (alprazolam): Is used to treat anxiety and panic disorders. The dose should be gradually increased until the drug starts working well. Anxiety drugs have many side effects and some infrequent side effects are feeling restless and anxiety (paradoxical phenomenon). Rec. Report to your physician for drug adjustment.
