ER: There are multiple causes of red rashes. Some are serious and some are not serious. Also, Azithromycin is not the typical first line treatment for scarlet fever. Classic scarlet fever is caused by a group a streptococcal infection. Given all of those caveats, it is more prudent to contact your primary care doctor and/or go to an urgent care center or an emergency room.
