Anti-inflammatory : Ibiprophen meds are fairly efficient in controlling pain and most importantly inflammation which is the bigger risk of tongue piercing. Be sure to follow up with an oral surgeon if you have any complications.

Consider NSAID or: tylenonl. Tongue piercing comes w continued pain as well as swelling, tenderness, bleeding & bruising for around 5 days.
